Sir Ivor Crewe is Master of University College, Oxford. He has a special interest in the University’s admissions policies, including widening participation and student financial support. He is President, Academy of Social Sciences, Chair of the Admissions Executive and Admissions Committees, University of Oxford, and Co-Chair of the Joint Fees and Student Support Advisory Group, University of Oxford.

He was previously Vice Chancellor of the University of Essex, having also been the university’s Pro Vice Chancellor Academic, founding Director of the Institute of Social and Economic Research and Head of the Department of Government. Sir Ivor is a former President of Universities UK and prior to that, chaired its England and Northern Ireland Council. He has served on the Boards of the Universities and Colleges Employers Association, the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, and the Universities Superannuation Scheme (the higher education pension fund).
